To support our School of Arts, Information & Media, we are looking for an external lecturer on a fee basis f/m/d for our courses in the study program of Data Engineering at our Heidelberg Campus.

Services:

Deliver weekly teaching sessions (180 min/session) during the semester
Supervise project work or student presentations (if included in the module)
Evaluate student performance and submit grades in line with university deadlines
Participate in brief coordination meetings with academic staff (as needed)

Requirements:

A Master's or Ph.D (or nearing completion) in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field
Knowledge of Virtual Machines and Ubuntu/Linux, Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized environments
Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, Understanding of distributed systems and data processing (Hadoop and Apache Spark)
Basic to intermediate knowledge of cloud computing, Familiarity with GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery
Understanding of cloud-based data pipelines, storage, networking, and IAM, Experience deploying or managing data workloads in a cloud environment
Teaching experience at university level, preferably in English
Availability during the lecture period ([e.g., mid-October to mid-February]).
Able to commute to Heidelberg, as the lectures will take place on campus
